What are Wave Springs?

These special springs, which are usually made from flat but also from round material, have an extremely compact design compared to traditional compression springs due the special sine wave design with tangential contact.

Wave springs - also called Sine Springs or Wave Washers- can be manufactured from a wide variety of materials and are outstanding for use in applications with tight radial and axial tolerances, in static or slightly dynamic applications.

The main advantage is the reduction of operating height by up to 60%. Wave Springs also improve considerably the axial movement tolerances and achieves almost uniform force transmission.
